Thank you for your interest in our events. Events allow us to raise food and funds to support the mission of The Food Bank. See a calendar of events below.
KIDS HELPING KIDS DAY
We invite area children to come to our Volunteer Room to help assemble Buddy Packs for their classmates in need. Check the volunteer page for upcoming dates.
FLOAT YOUR BOAT
Held in April, Float Your Boat is a fun way to support The Food Bank. Teams are challenged to create cardboard boats to race across Bass Pro Shops Lake. Participants compete for fun prizes such as "People's Choice," "Best in Show" and the "Titanic" award for the most epic sinking. The University of Missouri's College of Food, Agriculture & Natural Resources and The Food Bank began mid-Missouri's only cardboard regatta in 2012.
SCORE AGAINST HUNGER
Each fall, University of Missouri football fans pledge a dollar amount to The Food Bank for every points the Tigers score during the season. Leadership gifts from corporations, individuals and organizations provide significant funding, as well. All proceeds are restricted to acquiring and distributing food to partner agencies at no charge.
Taste of the Tigers
A taste and experience event, Taste of the Tigers is held at Memorial Stadium in the fall. This event gives guests the opportunity to sample tailgate-inspired bites from local chefs, enjoy spirits and brews from Columbia's favorite venues and experience unique on-field activities at Memorial Stadium. Part of the Missouri Tigers Score Against Hunger campaign, proceeds go toward sharing food and bringing hope.
PARTNERSHIP AGAINST HUNGER
On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, The Food Bank partners with Cumulus Radio, Walmart, Schnucks, HyVee and KOMU to hold a 12-hour food drive to help feed those in need during the holidays.
ONE FOR ONE HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE
Every December, The Food Bank partners with Zimmer Radio, Inside Columbia, Columbia Professional Firefighters Association, ABC 17, KMIZ TV, Fox 22 and KQFX Television to set up a collection site at the corner of Broadway and Providence in Columbia to collect food and funds to help provide food for those in need during the holiday season.
