COLUMBIA – Local mid-Missouri restaurants are teaming up with the Food Bank for the first Mid-Missouri Restaurant Week.
Restaurants have put special meals on their menus and will donate ten percent of the money raised to the food bank’s “Buddy Pack” program. The program serves 7,800 children throughout 32 counties. Missouri is the fifth worst state in the nation for children’s food security. Low-income students can take home a backpack filled with healthy food on weekends and holidays, and bring back the bags to be refilled at the start of the week.
Mid-Missouri Restaurant Week starts at noon Friday and ends on Sunday, January 22nd.
Participating restaurants include:
- Boone Tavern
- Les Bourgeois in Rocheport
- University Club
- Columbia Honey-Baked Ham
- Addison’s
- Sophia’s
- The Rome Restaurant
- Jazz Louisiana Kitchen
- Madison’s Cafe in Jefferson City
- Bread Basket Cafe
Each restaurant will feature $10-15 lunches and $20-30 dinners.
