What is Resource Navigation?
The Market’s Resource Navigator works with neighbors to assess their needs and connect them with Boone County resources outside of food. This short-term assistance can help individuals and families build a strong foundation on which to meet their individual goals and achieve long-term food security.

Meet Amber! Amber and her family were moving to be closer to her parents when their car broke down in Columbia. As a mom of five, Amber suddenly had to navigate a lot of new challenges in a community she didn't know. Then, she found The Market and visited Jen for resource navigation. She was connected with of resources like health and dental care, SNAP, tuition assistance and more.
Now, Amber is setting down roots. She's starting a CNA program and she says the support she received at The Market helped her build a foundation so she - and her kids - can thrive. Amber is tackling the coming months with a refreshed sense of hope. She knows it's her year to shine.
How Resource Navigation Works
Submit a request for Resource Navigation in-person at The Market or by calling (573) 874-7848 and asking to be connected to the Resource Navigator.
Together, you and the Resource Navigator will explore your circumstances and identify goals you would like to work toward. You may meet multiple times.
The resource navigator will help you determine next steps and connect you with appropriate community resources. The number of support resources you are connect with depends on your needs, your goals and your eligibility.
We hope to work alongside you to identify resources that will be best for you. Once our resource navigator connects you with agencies that provide services that meet the needs you identified, we will close your case and notify you.
