The Food bank market
Special Programs

Special Programs
The Food Bank Market offers a number of special programs that can help improve access to food in general as well as help members of our community get additional food resources that support nutrition for those who may be at a higher risk of food insecurity. Special programs include:
- Senior Boxes (CSFP)
- Share Packs for emergency nutrition
- Project DASH food delivery
- VIP Veteran Boxes
Learn more about each program below!
Senior Boxes (CSFP)
If you are age 60 or older and have limited income, you may be eligible for CSFP. Sometimes called a Senior Box, this supplemental resource provides a nutritious food package to participants each month. Residents of Boone County interested in signing up should check income requirements, complete an application and bring it to The Market. Proof of residence (an I.D. with current address) and a driver’s license or a birth certificate are required for registration.
If you would like to designate someone to pick up your Senior Box on your behalf, please complete the proxy form and turn in with your application. All forms are available on our Senior Box webpage.
Share Packs
Share Packs are easy-to-carry bags that provide nutrition support for one or two days. These food packages are designed to help our unhoused neighbors and typically include snack items and easy-to-open entrees, liquids and hygiene products. Share Packs can provide help in emergency situations and are shared right from The Market during business hours. Speak to a staff member to learn more.
ProjectDash
ProjectDash is a grocery delivery service provided by The Market through DoorDash. Neighbors with special considerations, like those who are age 60+, have limited mobility or who face transportation challenges and live within a 10-mile radius of The Market may be eligible to get food delivered to their door.
To be added to our delivery list, please request it by telephone after the first of the month. Deliveries go out on the 3rd Friday of the month.
Deliveries count as a regular monthly pantry visit.
Items are pre-selected and include a box of fresh items, like produce, dairy and protein, as well as non-perishable items with quantities based on household size.
Neighbors must be present to accept the delivery, so we can make sure no perishable foods go to waste.
VIP Veteran Packs
Veterans Packs are monthly boxes that include nutritious food, like ready-to-eat entrees, soups, and canned fruits and vegetables, as well as toiletries like razors, body wash and deodorant.
If you are a veteran, talk with a staff member at The Market to enroll. You’ll just need to share a form of documentation that describes your service (a VA ID card or discharge papers, for example). Packs are shared on a first-come-first-served basis each month.
